FAQ
Do you accept health insurance?
Currently, I do not. I am in the process of applying to work with insurance companies but currently only accep private payment through credit/debit or venmo/zelle. Payment must be recieved prior to appointments scheduled.

I will provide a superbill (itemized receipt) by request, which will allow you to submit for reimbursement with your insurance company. By law, health insurance plans must provide coverage for lactation support, counseling, and equipment for the duration of breastfeeding. These services may be provided before and after birth. We strongly encourage you to call your insurance company prior to your appointment so they can inform you of your benefits.
How can I prepare for in-home visits?
If you plan to have me observe a nursing session, please try to feed your baby about an hour and a half prior to your appointment time. This will ensure they will be likely to eat again during our session without being too hungry.

If we are going to work through issues with pumping, please have pumps and parts ready for use.

Please do not feel the need to tudy up your home or yourself in preparation for my visit. There is no judgement on my part, and you are doing enough already.
What should I expect during the visit?
I will ask to wash my hands at the start of our session and don latex-free gloves. I will ask permission before touching either you or your baby.

Before observing a feeding, we will go over your health history and birth story along with goals and concerns about feeding. Depending on mood and hunger of your baby, I will assess your baby physically, perform a weight check, then allow you to get comfortable for a feeding.

During the feeding, will assess your anatomy and positioning, babys latch and swallow pattern, and provide suggestions and adjustments as needed. After feeding we will work together to develop a plan of care to meet your goals and address your concerns. Within 48 hours, I will provide a superbill and/or email your pediatrician with a report of our consult.
Do I need a follow up visit?
For up to two weeks after your appointment, I will follow up with you regularly and expect that you will call/text/email with updates and questions. This service is included. Breastfeeding issues are often complex and solutions and strategies require tweaking and re-assessment. I will stick with you until you feel like you’re on the road to success as you define it!
If you require another face-to-face visit, all in-home follow-up visits are at a discounted cost. We will discuss this on an as-needed basis.
